Kidney stone treatment in Begusarai

किडनी और पेशाब की पथरी

Kidney stones can cause sudden, severe pain in the side or back. Dr. Jamshed treats stones in the kidney, the ureter (the tube from the kidney to the bladder) and the bladder with telescopic (endoscopic) procedures.

Common symptoms

  • Sharp pain in the side, back or lower stomach that comes in waves
  • Burning or pain when passing urine
  • Blood in the urine
  • Passing urine often, or in small amounts
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Fever, in some cases

Tests

  • Ultrasound (USG)
  • KUB X-ray
  • CT scan, if your doctor needs one
  • Blood and urine tests

Treatment

Small stones may pass with medicines and plenty of water. Larger stones can be removed through the urinary passage with a telescope: cystoscopy for the bladder, ureteroscopy (URS) for the ureter, and lithotripsy, which breaks the stone into small pieces. These procedures need no cut on the stomach.

Lowering the chance of new stones

  • Drink 2.5 to 3 litres of water a day, unless your doctor advises otherwise
  • Eat less salt and processed food
  • Cut down on junk food and cold drinks
  • Stay active and keep a healthy weight

What to expect

Your surgeon will choose the procedure based on the size and position of the stone, and will explain the hospital stay and recovery for your case.

This page is general information. Your treatment depends on your examination and tests.
