Enlarged prostate

An enlarged prostate is common in older men and can make passing urine difficult. When medicines are not enough, Dr. Jamshed performs TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), an operation done through the urinary passage with a telescope.
Many men are first treated with medicines. If symptoms continue, TURP removes the part of the prostate that blocks the flow of urine. It is done through the urinary passage, with no cut on the stomach.
You are admitted for the operation. The surgeon will explain the hospital stay and recovery for your case.
This page is general information. Your treatment depends on your examination and tests.
